Accessibility Statement
Respira Myofunctional Therapy is committed to providing a website experience that is accessible, inclusive, and easy to use.
1. Our commitment
Respira aims to provide a website that people with different abilities can use, whatever device or assistive technology they rely on.
We want every visitor to be able to find information about myofunctional therapy, contact us, and use the website’s features comfortably.
2. Accessibility standards
This website is being designed and maintained with accessibility best practices in mind.
We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA where reasonably possible.
3. Accessibility features
Features built into this website include:
- Clear heading structure on every page
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, including a “Skip to content” link
- Visible focus states
- Color contrast chosen to support readability
- Responsive layouts
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
- Visible labels on form fields
- Reduced-motion support
- Accessible accordion controls
- Logical reading order
- Links that are understandable out of context
- Mobile-friendly layouts
4. Keyboard accessibility
The website is intended to be usable with a keyboard. Visitors should be able to:
- Move through navigation links
- Access buttons
- Open and close FAQ accordions
- Complete forms
A “Skip to content” link appears when you first press the Tab key, so you can jump past the navigation.
5. Screen reader support
The website uses semantic HTML, descriptive labels, and page landmarks to improve compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
Interactive elements, such as the mobile menu and FAQ accordions, tell screen readers whether they are open or closed.
6. Images and alt text
Meaningful images are given descriptive alternative text where appropriate.
Decorative images and icons are hidden from assistive technologies where appropriate, so they do not add unnecessary noise.
7. Forms
The Contact form and the Provider Referral form are provided through a secure third-party form service. Each field has a visible label, and the forms can be completed with a keyboard.
If you have trouble using either form, please email or call us and we will help you another way.
8. Motion and animations
The website uses a small amount of subtle animation, such as content gently fading in as you scroll. No animation repeats continuously or runs longer than five seconds.
If your device is set to reduce motion (a setting known as prefers-reduced-motion), these animations are turned off and all content appears right away.
9. Color and contrast
The website uses colors and text contrast intended to support readability, including on light mint and sage backgrounds.
10. Third-party content
Some external services and links are not fully controlled by Respira, including:
- The Patient Portal
- Research article links
- External resources
The accessibility of third-party websites is governed by those providers.
11. Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. This website may continue to be reviewed and improved over time.
12. Need help accessing something?
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of this website, please contact Respira Myofunctional Therapy so we can try to assist.

14. Accessibility review log
We review this website for accessibility and record each review below. Select a date to see what was checked and what changed.
October 13, 2026: Full website review before launch
Standard: WCAG 2.2 Level AA
Pages reviewed: Home, Myofunctional Therapy, Services, Meet Stephanie, FAQ, Provider Referrals, Contact, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and this Accessibility Statement, plus the embedded Contact and Provider Referral forms.
How we tested: automated testing with the axe accessibility engine on every page, followed by manual checks of heading structure, keyboard navigation, visible focus, color contrast, link and button names, image alternative text, motion, touch target size, and page layout on screens as narrow as 320 pixels.
Results: no automated WCAG 2.2 Level AA failures were found on any page of the website. All text meets AA color contrast.
Improvements made:
- Enlarged the “Cookie settings” button to meet the minimum touch target size.
- Kept the cookie banner and the sticky page header from covering items that receive keyboard focus, and returned focus to where you were after making a cookie choice.
- Shortened the decorative “breathing” animation on the Home page so it stops after five seconds.
- Gave each “Learn more” link on the Services page a screen reader label naming its service.
- Gave the embedded Contact form a clear title for screen readers.
- Added alternative text to the logo inside the Provider Referral form.
Known third-party limitations: the embedded forms are hosted by our form provider. The form pages do not declare their language to screen readers, and required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). If either makes a form hard to use, please email or call us.
